Religion is often seen as a matter of faith.God,church,worship-all these odd components of religion-hinge of faith.Nineteenth-century man, aided by science,started dismantlingthis faith. the process still continues,though twentieth-century man, again aidedby science, is less sure of the grounds on which he has no long taken his iconoclastic stand.This has been a global trend, and, paradoxically, India has been no exception  to it though she has always held religion as truth. Accordingly,religion,truth,and experience are synonymous in India. If faith has any place in religion,it is because it is an off-shoot of experience. The experience that sustains has to be tasted in order to know that it is sweet.
