Great Women of India Volume - 1

The position of women in any society is the true index of its cultural and spiritual potential. From time immemorial, women have occupied an honoured place in Indian society. The pages of Indian history, covering millennia, are illumined by the lives of great women radiating brilliance in different walks of life.

In this set of 5 volumes are presented the life sketches of some great women right from the Vedic times. This book contains the life sketches of 7 women who found place in the Vedas and the Ramayana. These are Maitreyi and Gargi from the Vedas and Sita, Sabari, Ahalya, Mandodari and Tara from the Ramayana. The writings on each character is accompanied by a 4-colour illustration of a scene from their lives.

Authored by Dr (Mrs) S. Ramani and illustrated by N. Rajesh Kumar, this book was released during the 150^th Birth Anniversary of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi.
